Authorship Change Policy

The corresponding author confirms that, for a co-authored paper, the authorship order has been agreed upon by all the co-authors. It is strongly encouraged that authors keep a copy of a signed agreement amongst themselves. If any changes to the authorship are made during the review process (including addition, deletion and/or changing the authorship order), the changes must be agreed upon by all the authors. The corresponding author must (1) indicate any such changes in the cover letter for a revision, (2) include a written agreement of the changed authorship that is signed and approved by all authors, and (3) update the manuscript submission system’s metadata to accurately represent the authorship on the current iteration of the manuscript.

MISQ editors will not participate in discussing or resolving disputes among authors over authorship. Disputes on authorship that arise after submission could delay or prevent publication. MISQ will not continue to process a paper when an author reports an unsettled dispute on authorship.
